Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma
DiseaseEsophageal squamous cell carcinoma is a major histologic subtype of esophageal cancer originating from squamous epithelial cells lining the esophagus. It differs from esophageal adenocarcinoma in epidemiology and risk profile, and remains the dominant subtype in many regions. Disease burden is high in parts of Asia.
